State-of-the-Art modular Controller with wireless Remote Option
Competing with industry giants Rainbird and Toro, K-Rain approached BH to develop a new consumer-grade, modular controller with the option of integrating a wireless remote for the ultimate in user-convenience. With a humble budget in place, BH had to develop the systems engineering, industrial and mechanical design, wireless firmware and electronic hardware design as efficiently and rapidly as possible as a failed attempt with a Chinese firm had yielded an unusable design.
With decades of experience in place, BH knew where to focus critical resources to get K-Rain the design they needed in record time. After establishing a packaging configuration that met the client's objectives, BH rapidly developed the aesthetic look and feel to maximize perceived value and quality in an intensely competitive industry. Concurrently the BH team conducted a cost and DFx analysis to ensure appropriate price-points and good usability for both the consumer and service personnel. The mechanical, electronic and firmware design was then executed rapidly so that functional prototypes could be built to prove out function and wireless range. K-Rain then took the prototype design to a contract manufacturer to finalize the design for manufacture.
