BlackHägen Design partnered with Micromeritics Instrument Corporation to overhaul the AccuPyc II precision instrument and bring its looks, interfaces, performance and operational dynamics into the 21st century. Our team modernized the outdated materials, manufacturing processes and general appearance, introducing a sleek design that not only elevates the device's appeal to best-in-class, but also establishes a consistent brand language for future product redesigns, ensuring a distinctive identity for all future Micromeritics products.
To this end, BlackHägen Design played a pivotal role in establishing a corporate-wide style guide, with the new AccuPyc being the first in a series of new and enhanced instruments. In all cases, the goal is to optimize ease-of-use while also enhancing performance through refreshed systems engineering, and streamlining manufacturing processes to reduce overall unit costs. AccuPyc II features an innovative closure mechanism with a patented design for improved functionality, accuracy and reliability. The comprehensive redesign includes refined temperature control, an upgraded touchscreen interface and electronic controller, resulting in a newly transformed instrument with improved connectivity, enhanced user-friendliness, and simplified cleaning procedures. The collaborative efforts led to a product that seamlessly reestablishes Micromeritics as the premium global instrument provider in its field, exceeding expectations in both design and market performance.
