BlackHägen Design, Inc. (BH) has proposed a Time & Materials (T&M) project with a $25,000 budget to develop the exterior design of Perfint Healthcare Devices’ Maxio system. The project includes the delivery of a SolidWorks CAD model comprising approximately 18 parts, annotated with materials and processes, as well as photo-realistic renderings showcasing branding, materials, and finishes. Key milestones involve a concept review and a final design review, followed by minor revisions to finalize the design. A dedicated team of two designers, along with oversight from BH’s Director of Product Development, ensures high-quality results within the accelerated timeline.
• Perfint (spinoff of Medtronic India) needed a US-based design partner to help commercialize their feasibility prototype within a compressed schedule to maintain funding for the start-up client
• BH leveraged user-experience with surgical robots to refine the engineering prototype with limited initial exposure to contextual needs
• Design team paired simultaneous industrial and mechanical design to develop a Beta prototype CAD database in only 4 weeks
• Combined BH-Perfint team collaborated to develop the HFE Summative Test protocol and to collect DfX feedback while the Beta unit was being assembled to finalize the commercial design
• Usability Validation activities were executed and successfully submitted to the FDA within six calendar months.
